Smart Accommodation Management Platform

For a major mining company, DSKY designed and delivered an enterprise accommodation management platform. The solution integrates accommodation management, staff identity, access control and site-wide IoT technologies to automate check-in, check-out, room access, occupancy visibility and operational reporting.

  • ChallengeFly-in staff needed to queue for check-in and collect room keys, while manual allocation created operational risk when occupied rooms could be incorrectly issued to another person. Accommodation teams also needed better visibility and reporting.
  • SolutionDSKY integrated accommodation, staff-card, access control and IoT systems so workers can check in automatically, access allocated rooms without manual key collection, and be checked out based on roster and shift information.

Secure Guest Accommodation Wi-Fi Across 10 Mining Sites

For a major mining company, DSKY delivered a secure guest accommodation Wi-Fi authentication solution across 10 sites and approximately 12,000 rooms. The solution provides simple onboarding without relying on open Wi-Fi, captive splash pages or walled gardens, giving staff and guests a secure and consistent way to connect throughout the accommodation network.

  • ChallengeLarge, distributed accommodation sites needed convenient guest access without weakening network security. Traditional splash-page authentication also creates difficulties for headless devices and forces returning users to repeatedly sign in.
  • SolutionDSKY implemented secure, easy authentication that avoids open wireless access and captive portals. Users and approved devices can be onboarded once and retain an authorised connection when returning to site.
  • Device supportThe approach supports headless and limited-interface devices such as smart watches and smart speakers that cannot reliably complete a browser-based splash page.
  • Enterprise integrationThe solution can integrate with enterprise identity and workforce systems to automatically revoke access when staff leave the organisation or their access entitlement ends.

DSKY performed wireless site surveys across healthcare and mining environments, including in-building Wi-Fi assessments for aged care facilities and a private LTE survey covering a mining haul road.
